Most Quakers headed off road at the weekend, while in town one Quaker was busy setting some records.

The biggest turnout of the week was down at Castle Bolton for the Falls and Castles trail races, which saw two distances on offer around the undulating countryside. In the 18 mile event, Dave Jones completed the race in fifth place overall in 2:19:32 along with Gary Read (2:48:47), Rebecca Bowes (3:26:45), Angela Clement (3:58:16) and Jo Meynell (3:58:31). Over the 7 mile distance, Scott Beaumont came home in 1:04:58 followed by Emily Beaumont (1:06:49), Nigel Eddy (1:07:58), Juliette McLaren (1:10:14), Gemma Eddy (1:11:49), Darren Alderson (1:12:27) and Rachel Maddison (1:20:42).

The latest Back to the Track meet took place down on the track at Eastbourne. In the 800m, Dave Jones clocked 2:32, while Ian Bond set a brace of club records, running 2:53 in the 800m and throwing 8.31m in the shot put.

The previous week had seen three Quakers head up to Northumberland for the Maften 10K race. Rob Gillham completed the undulating countryside route in 47:00 along with Viv Hardwick in 1:09:42 and Alison Hardwick in 1:09:46.
