A very quiet week saw just a couple of Quakers in action at the weekend.

At the Ferriby 10 mile race, taking place near Hull, Louise Trainor completed the mostly countryside route in 1:16:38.

Down at Kirkstall, Ruth Middleton did the It’s Parky Up North half marathon, completing the route along part of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal in 2:32:52.

The previous week had seen Dave Thompson on the Portuguese island of Madeira for the Funchal marathon, finishing the race, held in some very hot conditions, in 4:20:49 and first in his age category.

At Sedgefield, Emma Good and Sally Watson finished in 25:31 and 35:52 respectively, Kathryn Plant did the Riverside run in 27:49, Stephen Moore ran at Albert Park in 29:08 and Helen Spaven did the Newbiggin-By-The-Sea run in 30:48. Further afield, Tom and Claire Chapman did the Keswick run in 21:45 and 25:41 respectively, Stuart Hardcastle ran at Wepre in 25:46 and David Stewart did the Bushy run in 29:20.
