Most Quakers headed over to a rainy Lake District at the weekend.
There were four races on offer at the Derwentwater Trail Races, part of the Lakeland Trail Series, with races held around the lake itself. In the 15K distances, Andrew Dixon completed the challenge route in 1:45:03 along with Claire Chapman (1:48:55), Emma Joyeux (2:16:59), Paul Ryan (2:19:59) and Lena Rusa (2:37:00), while in the trail race, Tom Chapman finished in 1:23:10 with Julie Russell in 1:47:59. In the 10K, Steve Howell covered the route in 52:49, while Wendy Thompson finshed the 5K route in 59:39.
David Ledgerwood was the sole Quaker at the Derwent Reservoir 10K race near Consett, completing the route in 53:45.
Midweek had seen a slightly different Autumn Coast Road race, with this year’s event turned into a 3K time trial. Over the seafront route, Michael Joyeux clocked 10:22 along with Dave Jones in 10:37.
The previous week had seen four runners head over to Stanhope for the 10 mile race being held there. Gareth Kyle completed the hilly distance in 1:29:37 along with Andrew Dixon (1:37:23) and Lisa Jenkins & Lee Morris (2:10:29).
