The week before the big one saw just a handful of runners out racing, though one of them got the chance to don the England vest.
At the Barry Island 10K in Wales, Brian Martin represented England at the England vs Wales International Masters, finishing the distance in 39:31 to come first in his age category.
At the Ray Harrison 10K race, held just down the road at Billingham, Brian McClaren completed the route in 46:25 along with Gemma Eddy (1:03:19), Colin Smith (1:06:19) and Kelly Smith (1:09:39).
Meanwhile at the York 10K, which took in a route from the Knavesmire to the city centre and back again, Paul Dalton finished in 36:44 followed by Jessica Campbell (58:25), James Simpson (59:30) and Susan Rigg (1:38:29).
Two headed up to South Shields for the 10 mile race taking place along the coast. Jeff Marriott completed the multi-terrain route in 1:40:00 just ahead of Grainne Duffy in 1:40:37.
David Thompson was out on his own on the fells for the Dovedale Dipper in the Peak District, completing the 27 mile route, with 3500 feet of climb in 5 hours 38 minutes.
The latest Hardmoors trail series, Farndale, took place over near Hutton-le-Hole which saw four runners completing the 10K distance. Phil Rutter finishing in 1:20:59 along with Gill Colling (1:50:17), Sally Watson (2:07:18) and Michelle Boshier (2:07:19).
Clare McGrath was the sole Quaker at the Fell Em Doon Woodland 10K up at Ashington, finishing the fairly flat route in 1:12:31.

At Sedgefield, Phil Rutter finished in 22:08 along with Ian Scott (25:32), April Corbett (26:17), Richard Payne (26:47), Gill Colling (28:09), Jeff Marriott (28:25), Mark Colling (28:43), Gemma Marshall-Moore (43:06) and Sarah Watson (50:54), while at Catterick, Ed Griffiths ran there in 23:14 along with Phil Clarke (23:23), Jo Meynell (27:52) and Sally Singleton (31:17). At Albert Park, Stephen Moore and Kathryn Plant finished there in 26:05 and 27:39 respectively, David Ledgerwood did the Riverside run in 30:01, Anthony Corbett ran at Northallerton in 25:29, Carl Foxton and Naomi Dixon did the Redcar run in 27:57 and 38:52 respectively, Helen Spaven ran at Heslington in 29:48, while at Stewart Park, Sharon Carr finished in 38:47 along with Judith Russell in 38:49.
Further afield, Kirsty Smith Yates ran at Clacton in 25:19, Rebecca Howard did the Bedgebury Pinetum run in 23:08, at Blackpool, Tom and Claire Chapman finished in 21:12 and 26:44 respectively and Stuart Hardcastle did the Wepre run in 24:32. Julie Russell ran at Bournemouth in 25:33, Paul Davies did the Ashton Court run in 21:33, David Stewart finished at Bushy in 31:02 while Rebecca Dodd completed the Walmer & Deal run in 29:49.
