The
Allendale 8 was the latest race to be featured in the club
championship at the weekend. Michael Joyeux finished fourth overall
in 47:29, ahead of Colin Wild in 52:36 and Danny Gordon in 64:58.
Julie Whinn completed the hilly course in 70:48 with John Whinn
finishing in 74:28 ahead of Diane Adkins in 80:29, Alan Prest in
82:07, and Emma Whitworth in 83:56. At Kirkby Malzeard, several
Quakers took part in the 10k race hoping to increase their tally of
points in the club’s 10k leagues. Brian Martin put in a good
performance to finish in 41:17, ahead of Rob Dent in 41:50. Michael
Kay and Chris Minto both had good runs as they recorded 44:10 and
44:54 respectively. Paul Roberts completed the race in 46:05,
followed by Peter Rowley in 48:57 whilst Darryn Wood returned to form
to finish in 49:50, just ahead of Neil Harrington in 49:58. Nigel
Walker (52:03), Steven Johnston (53:19), Kristy Burkin (57:45), Paul
Hutchinson (59:32) and Adrian Dent (75:38) also picked up valuable
league points.

The
Yomp Mountain Challenge offered a 23 mile or 11.5 mile race over the
Cumbrian Fells.  In the longer race, Nick Mason finished ninth
overall in 3:47:25, ahead of Charlie Bogg in 4:24:39.  Several
Quakers completed the route together with April Corbett recording
6:07:27, followed by Anthony Corbett in 6:07:35, Nicola Howe in
6:07:46, Roy MacDougall in 6:07:49, and Sandra Cass in 6:07:57.  Over
the shorter course, Corinne Murray finished in 2:03:42, with Lewis
Boshier recording 2:54:05, just ahead of Michelle Boshier in 2:54:15.

In
the Middlesbrough College 5k Riverside Run, Stephen Moore was first
Quaker home in 19:57, followed by Paul Roberts (20:49), Mark Tallon
(21:12), Diane Vaughan (21:44), Stephen Ash (22:43), Ian Young
(24:41) and Emily Mann (27:14).  Also over 5k, the Wynyard Woodland
Park Trail Race took place mid-week.  Darren Stockdale was first to
finish for the club in 21:23, followed by Nic Hollindale in 23:04 and
Diane Vaughan in 23:25.  Anthony Corbett recorded 25:54, ahead of
Darryn Wood in 27:08, and Matt Jackson in 27:53.  In previous weeks,
Sedgefield played host to a 5k race in the Durham Trail Series where
Anthony Corbett was first home for the Quakers in 24:33, ahead of
Diane Vaughan in 24:53 and Richard Hughes in 27:43.

In
local park runs, Stephen Moore completed the Albert Park route in
20:26, whilst at Sedgefield, Dave Thompson recorded 23:06, ahead of
Mark Colling in 28:19, and at Tees Barrage, John Brant finished in
26:11.  In Darlington South Park’s event, Peter Commane was first
home for the club in 18:22, followed by Nick Wadd (19:13), Andrew
Walker (21:49), Dave McLachlan (22:01), Ewan Henderson (22:39), Iain
Clyde (23:05), Ty Hankinson (23:54), Jeff Marriott (24:27), Michael
Robinson (24:52), Hazel Commane (30:42) and Laura Sowerby (32:20).
