There was a cracking turnout from our club at the Ravenstonedale 10k, where 37 Quakers picked up points in the final race of this year’s Club Championship.
After ten months and 34 races, Brian Martin officially became the 2016 Champion. Brian ran sixteen races and took 50 points in fifteen of them. Paul Dalton and Marc Ellis spent much of the year tussling for the runner-up trophy, but they were thwarted by a late challenge from Michael Joyeux. Paul took third place, beating Marc by just one point.
The Ladies Champion was Dawn Richardson, who finished fifth overall. Sandra Martin put in a huge effort to be rewarded with second place and Julie Whinn came third.
The most popular race was the Guy Fawkes with 46 Quakers running and the least popular was the trail race at Boroughbridge, where a lonely Julie Whinn splodged her way around the course to take 50 points. Rob Gillham was our most prolific runner, taking part in an incredible twenty events and finishing seventh overall.
Well done everyone!
