December Achievements

In the last month of the year Quakers have sought out races to cover most types of running.

We have competed in Cross Country at Aykely Heads, Road Races as far away as Devon and the Canary Islands, a Fell Race at Castleton and a Trail Races at Wynard and around Roseberry Topping.

The long distance runners Annette, Charlie and Dave completed a long distance hilly event of 23 miles in Last of the Summer Wine Country at Holmfirth.

At the 10K road race Burrator Noir around Dartmoor Diane Vaughan was first in her age category.

In the 5K Winter trail race at Wynard Woodland Park Alex Kiel won the event and Kyle Cook finished in third place.

At the night time 5K trail run at Tees Barrage Kyle Cook finished in 2nd place.

In the Hardmoors trail half marathon in the Roseberry Topping area Michael Joyeux finished first overall.  This is the seventh and final half marathon of the 2016 series and Michael has finished first in all seven meaning he is the series winner.

37 of our members took part in the McTaggart Trot at Barton, a charity event to raise funds for St Teresa’s hospice. There were 52 teams of mixed abilities. Paul Roberts was in the team that finished 1st, Kyle Cook was in the team that finished 2nd and the team that finished 5th was made up of Gemma Marshall, Rebecca Howard and Michael Joyeux.

Wishing you all a very happy new year with best wishes for some great running during 2017.
