19th June – Whorlton Run – 10K – Fell
It was warm, sunny and still, perfect weather for a summer evening of fell racing. The Whorlton Run. It’s a bit of a marmite race for fell runners, with a road start and finish, one main steep climb, shortly followed by a steep mile descent. 10 Quakers took on the challenge of Whorlton Fell run over an 11k distance. Brian Martin Gained the 50 points with an age adjusted time of 41:32, Marc Ellis gained 49 points with an age adjusted time of 45:45 and Michael Joyeux gained 48 points with an age adjusted time of 48:03. Julie Russell was the sole Quaker lady to run and gained 42 points in an age adjusted time of 65:17.
Well done to all Quakers who took part, amazing running on a tough course.

Burn Valley Half Marathon starts and finishes in the market town of Masham – the gateway to Wensleydale. Start time: 10:00 am, Race numbers: Handed out on the day at race HQ (Masham Town Hall) with a re-usable shoe tag for race timing.
Entry fees: £17.00 (running clubs members), £19.00 (unattached runners)

A 14K run over moorland tracks and paths near Castle Bolton in Wensleydale in aid of Rotary charities. 2019 will be the 15th year of the race. The 2019 run will take place over the same scenic route on moorland tracks and paths near Castle Bolton in Wensleydale by kind permission of Lord Bolton. The Start/Finish will again be in the same field, close to Bolton Castle car park. Traffic free and well marshalled.
