Beginners Group
We all started somewhere, so we appreciate that taking your first steps in running is not necessarily easy.
Please contact the lead coach for details of the next beginners sesssion or follow us on facebook.

Build Up Gradually
You’ll start with a mixture of walking and running at first, but with the help of our friendly and supportive coaches you’ll gradually increase the amount of running you are doing.
At the end of Week 10, we’ll have a crack at the South Park parkrun together!
The course is made up of a coached club session every Tuesday (6.30pm), with a second session to be undertaken in your own time during the week. Our last few Beginners Groups have proved extremely popular, and in order to ensure that those who sign up receive the same high quality level of coaching we have limited the size of the group on this occasion to 12. Places on the group will be allocated on a ‘First Come, First Served’ basis.
If you have any questions about the training involved, please contact us at leadcoach@quakersrunningclub.org.uk
Venue: We meet at Abbey Road Sports Field and will be using the field itself, as well as streets and local parks around the area.
Cost: £10 for a 10 week course, however you will be offered the opportunity following the completion of the course to become Club Members, and your initial £10 will then be deducted from your membership fee. You can pay the course fee on-line.
How do I book a place on the next Beginners Group?
Places are purchased via our online store. Click here to see the store, if there are no beginners places showing it means there is currently no course bookings being taken. You can contact the Lead Coach to be put on a waiting list in case anyone cancels their place.

If You Can Already Run 5k
Not new to running, but want to run with others? Quakers Running Club meet at 6.30pm every Tuesday and Thursday evening at Abbey Road Sports Field, and provide a main structured training session, alongside a number of steady run groups. Come along one night to find out more!
Please note that Quakers Running Club does not maintain a Junior Section, or offer training to Junior athletes. We are therefore unable to accept anyone under the age of 18 on our Beginner’s Groups.
