During April we have seen Quakers taking part in track events, trail races, fell runs and marathons both in the UK and as far away as America. We also had a few members participating in the Stockton duathlon.
In Manchester Gary Read and Michael Thomson set new personal best times in the marathon distance.
In the Fountains Abbey 10k Marc Ellis finished in 2nd place. Marc, Dave Jones and Rob Dent took the men’s team prize.
At Wakefield Paul Dalton finished 2nd in his age category in the 10k race.
In the 5 mile event at Hartlepool Marina Michael Joyeux and Alex Kiel finished in 4th and 5th place. Danny Gordon was 2nd in his age category.
At the Vale of York 10 mile race Dave Thompson was 3rd in his age category and also set a new Club Record in his category.
In the Mermaid 10K there were new personal best times for Michael Joyeux, Rob Dent, Chris Minto, Steve Snook, Ty Hankinson, Nicola Wells, Barbara Barker and Tracey Plaskitt. Michael finished in 2nd place. Steve Snook was 2nd in his age category and Nicola Wells was 3rd in her age category.
At the multi terrain Helmsley 10k Paul Dalton was 1st in his age category.
In the Tyneside 10k Lisa Alderson set a new personal best.
Rebecca Howard set herself a new personal best half marathon time in the Northumberland Coast race.
In the Iconic London marathon Quakers had 12 runners taking part in the event. Marc Ellis and Michael Oliver set new personal best times for the distance. Marc Ellis, Katherine Hackett, Dave Thompson and Wendy Colling achieved good for age times.
Diane Vaughan and Dawn Richard completed the Boston marathon in a very hot temperature.
In the track events Michael Joyeux was 3rd in the North East 10000m at Jarrow and also set a new Club Record.
In the Eastbourne track and field event we saw a number of Club records set or broken.

Sally Watson set a new 5k personal best at the Tees Trail summer series event at Newham Grange.
Paul Dalton finished in 2nd place at the 10k Chase the Kite event in Derwent Country park.
In the Hamsterley Forest 10k Gareth Kyle and Andy Whittam both set themselves new personal best times.
In the Kirkbymoorside 10k Louise Trainor was 1st in her age category and David Ledgerwood set a personal best time.
At the popular Spring Coast 5k Alex Kiel finished in 2nd place and Michael Joyeux finished in 7th place. Alex Kiel, Darren Wright, Chris Minto, Julie Whinn and Michelle Scruby all set new personal bests. Louise Trainor was 1st in her age category and Julie Whinn was 2nd in her age category. Louise Trainor, Julie Whinn and Phil Clarke all set new Club Records in their age categories.
In the hilly Reeth 20k Michael Joyeux was in 2nd place. Billy Harris was 2nd in his age category and Danny Gordon was in 1st place in his age category.
In the Reeth 10k Ewan Henderson finished in 6th place.
At the Keswick half marathon Sarah Bayles set a new personal best time.
In the Ultra distance events Annette Clarke, Charlie Bogg and Dave Thomson completed the 37 mile route at the Calderdale Hike. The trio also completed the Fellsman which is a 60 mile route from Ingleton to Thresfield.
Emma Blacn completed the 53 miler in the Highland Fling race in Scotland.
Gemma Eddy completed the 50k Kielder Ultra marathon distance.
