Following the successful running of the Lyke Wake Challenge event back in July we are pleased to announce that we have been able to make donations to several charities.
The bills have been paid and donations have been made to Ravenscar village hall and to Raynet who provide the Radio support at the checkpoints.
This has left enough money to donate £780 to Scarborough & Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team and also £780 to Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team. These are the teams that cover the area that the Lyke Wake Challenge route takes.
Roy Macdougall and Anthony Corbett presented Scarborough and Rydale with a cheque yesterday for their donation which they showed much thanks and appreciation for.
We would again like to express a huge thank you to all of the Quakers who were kind enough to volunteer their time to marshal this event, it is appreciated so much by the race organisers and the runners. The feedback from the runners about how great the marshals were at the checkpoints should make us all proud to be a member of the club.
