Quakers up all night at the Adidas Thunder Run 24

At the recent Addidas Thunder Run, the Quakers were well represented with a number of our runners taking part in the 24 hour relay event in Catton Park, Derbyshire. Some of the Quaker runners were adding to their T short collections as they have attended all but one of the Thunder Runs since the second event held in 2010. The event is a cross country and trail event where runners begin running at midday and continue running for 24 hours in a continuous relay!

Anthony Corbett finished in 24th place overall in the Solo Men catagory, completing 13 laps and improving his own club record, running 81.58 miles in 23:23:43. With Mark Colling completing 5 laps in 7:31:38. The Quakers also fielded a ladies team, Quakers Still Not Normals (comprising of April Corbett, Katherine Hackett, Sandra Cass, Nicola Howe and Wendy Colling), which finished in 10th place, completing 23 laps in 23:34:52.

We’re naturally very proud of all our club runners who tackled the 24 hour endurance feat!
