The coast seemed to be the venue of choice last week, with several Quakers heading to the seaside for a mixture of distances.

At the Northumberland Coastal Run, which went along the Northumberland coastal path from Beadnell Harbour to Alnmouth Estuary, Michael Joyeux completed the 14 mile distance in 1:24:46 along with Andrew Walker in 1:57:23.

Over on the other side of the country, Julien and Juelz-Lee Deckard ran the Windmill Half Marathon at Lytham St Annes, the two coming in together in 2:17:01.

Heading off road was Paul Dalton who completed the Burton Leonard 10K trail race in North Yorkshire in 40:45.

Midweek saw the Summer Coast Road 5K at Redcar where Michael Joyeux finished in 16:33, along with Gary Read (22:30), Ty Hankinson (22:46), Sarah Watson (24:28), Emily Mann (25:38), Julie Whinn (26:36), Michelle Scruby (27:20) and Diane Adkins (31:26).

Heading further north on the same night, Diane Vaughan and Richard Hughes completed the Sunderland 5K road race in 21:55 and 23:37 respectively.

Meanwhile over at Sedgefield, Richard Payne completed the Gerry Kearsley Summer Handicap finishing the 6.5 mile route in 52:55.

The previous week had seen the fourth round of the Stockton Summer 5K series, this time at the new venue of Oakleaf, Newton Aycliffe, where Quakers took two of the top five positions. Michael Parry finished second in 17:20, with Paul Dalton coming fifth in 17:42. They were followed by Mark Robinson (19:58), Rob Dent (21:01), Ewan Henderson (21:12), Dale Chapman (21:51), Gary Read (23:00), Ty Hankinson (23:11), Phill Hall (25:17), Paul Ryan (26:46), Danny Gordon (26:56), Lena Rusa (28:33), Terri Deighton (28:56), Wendy Noble (29:24), Lee Morris (29:38), Hannah Robinson (29:56), Alec Cinamon (30:06), Lucy Bendle (31:00), Diane Adkins (32:47) and Gill Wallis (35:35).

Also running a week earlier was Steve McAllister who headed to the hills for the Guisborough Grunt. Taking in a climb of 1350 feet, he finished the 6 mile route in 1:08:17.

In the Saturday morning parkruns, Michael Parry finished at South Park in 16:58, followed by Paul Dalton (17:36), Marc Ellis (18:52), Nick Mason (19:54), Steve Snook (20:22), Phil Rutter (21:30), Michael Oliver (22:13), Andrew Dixon (23:11), Danny Gordon (24:14), Peter Commane (24:30), Gavin Armstrong (24:47), Gary Read (24:48), Colin Smith (25:29), Iain Clyde (25:41), Sarah Watson (26:57), Gemma Marshall (27:48), Sally Singleton (28:21), Gill Colling (28:55), Mark Trowles (29:06), Michelle Scruby (29:34), Hazel Commane (30:57), Michael King (31:21), Michelle Boshier (47:21) and Lewis Boshier (47:21).

At Sedgefield, Dave Thompson completed the run there in 22:08 along with Andrew Lambe (22:30), Anthony Corbett (24:39), April Corbett (24:43), Wendy Colling (26:09), Abbie Hull (27:48) and Diane Adkins (34:43). At Albert Park, Stephen Moore ran there in 21:17, Alan Prest completed Durham in 31:37, Emily Beaumont finished at Tees Barrage in 43:01 and Lucy Bendle did the run at Hartlepool in 30:21.

Among the tourists, Kevin Scott did the run at Harrogate in 27:04, Peter Rowley completed the run at Leeds in 25:57, while Andrew Vernon travelled to Wetherby, finishing in 20:42.
