Quakers battled the weather last weekend as runners headed off to Cumbria for the latest league and championship race.
Twenty-five Quakers travelled to Ravenstonedale for the 10K race there, the biggest turnout from any club and accounting for almost one-sixth of the entire field. Several runners also won prizes which ranged from a hamper and a round of golf, to bizarrely, some very large sacks of logs!
In some very wet and windy, not to mention flooded, conditions, Paul Dalton finished the countryside route in fourth place overall in 37:43 (coming first in his age category). The weather unfortunately put paid to the planned cross country event at Croft, the gale force winds ultimately causing the event to be abandoned.

A very day-glo James Simpson can’t decide whether he’s running a race or at a rave!
