The middle of January for most Quakers meant a trip down to York for the Brass Monkey half marathon, where the cold temperatures had the race living up to its name.

Michael Joyeux was first home for the club over the 13.1 mile distance in 1:16:08 and was followed in by Paul Dalton (1:18:11), Brian Martin (1:26:49, PB), Katherine Hackett (1:26:49, PB), Nick Mason (1:27:51), Dale Chapman (1:33:21), David Mclachlan (1:35:28), Steve Snook (1:35:49), Colin Wild (1:36:50), Chris Minto (1:37:48, PB), Zoe Rothery (1:39:20), Andrew Walker (1:40:14), Peter Dods (1:41:04), David Whittle (1:41:16), Gary Read (1:45:31), Stephen Ash (1:45:36), Gavin Armstrong (1:45:44), Michael Oliver (1:47:26), James Simpson (1:48:57), Marta Rybarczyk (1:49:11), Stephen Mcallister (1:49:47), Peter Rowley (1:50:58), April Corbett (1:53:06, PB), Clare Stradling (1:54:08, PB), Bridget Stewart (1:54:55), Robert Kirby (1:55:39), Rebecca Bowes (2:00:01), Pamela Barrass (2:00:24), Matt Jackson (2:01:07), Michelle Boshier (2:12:03), Mel Newton (2:12:03), Fiona Dixon (2:14:31, PB), Alec Cinnamon (2:17:20) and Rob Marquiss (2:20:50).

At Sedgefield, Richard Payne completed the Gerry Kearsley Winter Handicap race, covering the 6.5 mile distance in a time of 54:30.

In the Saturday morning parkruns, South Park was back on following its unscheduled week off. Michael Joyeux completed the run there in 19:44 along with Paul Dalton (19:45), Nick Mason (20:13), Rob Dent (20:24), David Todd (21:35), Richard Coulson (21:44), Rob Gillham (22:47), Gavin Armstrong (24:07), Phill Hall (24:24), Sarah Watson (25:29), Mark Blewitt (26:31), Julie Whinn (26:40), Neil Scollick (26:56), Mark Trowles (27:24), Lyn Hatch (27:52), Lee Morris (28:34), Emily Mann (28:40), Sally Singleton (29:12), Joanne Dewar (29:27), Duncan O’neil (29:54), Hazel Commane (32:40), Paula Roberts (34:03), Adrian Dent (36:19), Darren Wright (48:05) and Gary Read (48:06).

At Sedgefield, Dave Thompson ran there in 22:23 as did Paul Roberts (23:07) and Diane Adkins (33:08) while at Albert Park, Stephen Moore completed the run in 21:30. Over at Tees Barrage, Ty Hankinson finished in 22:48 along with Paul Appleton (25:31) and Jeanette Appleton (28:24), while up in Durham Alan Prest completed the run there in 31:50.

Overseas, Graeme Stanton completed the parkrun in Auckland, New Zealand in 23:29.
