Runners didn’t have far to go last week with three races to choose from in the region, though they varied considerably in both distance and elevation.

The latest of the autumn marathons took place down in York. Paul Dalton completed his first race over the 26.2 mile distance in 2:49:45, followed by Stephen Moore (3:36:26), Bridget Stewart (4:04:24, PB), Jessica Campbell (4:06:23 and also completing her first marathon), Robert Kirby (4:14:42), April Corbett (4:18:21, PB) and Anthony Corbett (4:23:39).

The latest league and championship race took place in Richmond, which no doubt contributed to the high turnout there. First home for the club over the very undulating 10K course was Michael Parry in 37:30, followed by Michael King (40:20), Brian Martin (41:28), Andrew Vernon (42:56), Colin Wild (44:02), David McLachlan (46:23), Phil Rutter (46:40), David Thompson (46:50), Darren Wright (47:42), Andrew Walker (48:30), Peter Dods (50:01), Stephen McAllister (50:09), Ty Hankinson (50:11), Gavin Armstrong (50:25), Wendy Colling (50:55), Danny Gordon (51:17), Mark Colling  (51:19), Michael Oliver (51:39), Richard Payne (52:31), Marta Rybarczyk (54:12), Paul Appleton (54:14), Michelle Boshier (54:14), Iain Clyde (56:40), Jamie Burn (56:41), Janet Bowlby (57:10), Rebecca Bowes (58:04), Alec Cinamon (58:16), Ian Young (58:25), Pamela Barrass (58:26), Julie Whinn (59:51), Grace Gilpin (59:58), James Simpson (1:00:19), Sally Singleton (1:01:03), Jeanette Appleton (1:01:28), Claire Norman (1:02:42), Nigel Walker (1:02:57) and Hannah Robinson (1:03:43).

Meanwhile two headed over to the coast for the relatively flat Scarborough 10K, where Michael King and Alan Prest finished in 1:05:53 and 1:07:59 respectively.

In the Saturday morning parkruns Dale Chapman completed South Park in 19:30, followed by Rob Gillham (21:25), Steve Mcallister (21:33), David Todd (21:50), Ewan Henderson (22:00), Zoe Rothery (22:16), Lesley Miller (23:59), Richard Coulson (24:20), Gary Read (24:25), Darryn Wood  (24:42), Phill Hall (24:58), Neil Scollick (25:09), Sarah Watson (25:30), Andrew Vernon (25:31), Matt Jackson (25:38), Colin Smith (26:04), James Simpson (28:32), Michael King (29:38), Gavin Armstrong (33:24) and Adrian Dent (35:09).

Over at Sedgefield, Paul Roberts finished in 22:14, along with Phil Rutter (23:31), Richard Payne (27:51), Julie Whinn (28:01), Wendy Colling (28:16), Gill Colling (28:17), Emily Mann (29:20), Mark Colling (29:20) and Jill Wallis (35:14) while at Tees Barrage Paul and Jeanette Appleton ran in 25:34 and 29:19 respectively.

Among the tourists, Peter Rowley completed the Keswick run in 23:59, Louise Trainor finished the Humber Bridge run in 22:32, while Dawn Richardson ran at Peterborough in 19:03.
