The latest race included in the Quakers Club Championship
took place last weekend with the Ray Harrison Memorial road race at
Billingham.  Dean Newton was first in his
age group with 35:30, narrowly beating Michael Joyeux who recorded 35:32.  Michal Ondrej was next home for the club in
39:17, ahead on Nick Mason in 40:09 and Colin Wild in 40:35.  Rob Dent continued with his recent
improvement, recording 40:44 (a 10k personal best) as did Michael Kay with 43:04, Stephen Moore with
43:18 and Chris Minto with 43:43.  Nic
Hollindale was first lady home for the club in 44:09 closely followed by Steve
Snook in 44:37.  Also running for the
Quakers were Andrew Walker (45:47), Marta Rybarczyk (45:48), Paul Jefferies
(47:34), Peter Rowley (47:55), Jeff Marriott (48:07), Stephen McAllister
(48:24), Rob Marquiss (51:58), John Brant (52:36), Clare Stradling (53:53),
Colin Smith (55:12), Paul Hutchinson (57:40) and Alan Prest (61:02).

Meanwhile, a group of Quakers had an early morning as they
travelled to the Lake District for the Ullswater 18 mile trail race, starting
at 8am.  Michael King finished in third place
overall in 3:08:07.  Katherine Hackett,
Brian Martin and Wayne Bramley completed the course together in 4:14:26,
4:14:33 and 4:14:35 respectively; with Diane Adkins finishing in 5:36:51.  Anthony and April Corbett had completed 14
miles before an injury to April forced them to withdraw from the race.

The previous weekend saw the latest Hardmoors event take
place, with a full marathon, a half marathon and a 10k race taking place on the
trails around Saltburn.  In the full
marathon, Wendy Colling finished first for the club in 5:54:49, followed by
Sandra Cass in 6:37:23 and April and Anthony Corbett in 6:37:32.  In the half marathon, Michelle Boshier
finished in 3:01:51, with Mark Colling and Diane Adkins finishing in 3:19:40
and 3:19:42 respectively.

Local park runs saw, Corinne Murray as first lady finisher
in at Albert Park in 20:30, followed by Stephen Moore in 20:48.  At
Sedgefield, Lucy Jefferies was the first lady home in 21:05, followed by Wendy
Colling in 24:19, Anthony Corbett in 24:26, Mark Colling in 25:01, Richard
Payne in 26:11, April Corbett in 26:55 and Sandra Cass in 28:29.  At
Darlington, Dawn Richardson was also first lady to complete the course in
20:08.  Also running were Michael Joyeux (17:59), Peter Commane (18:17),
Nick Wadd (19:50), Dave McLachlan (21:38), Peter Rowley (22:33), Neil
Harrington (23:19), Michael Watson (23:42), Iain Clyde (25:38), Anneli
Mackenzie Brown (27:55), Sally Singleton (29:43) and Adrian Dent (32:28).  In a not-so-local park run, Michael King
completed the Clermont course in Florida in 28:40.
