Five Quakers
travelled to York at the weekend to take part in the Jane Tomlinson 10k road
race.  Graeme Stanton was first home for
the club in 42:57, ahead of Peter Rowley in 48:34, Sarah Davies in 55:51, Rob
Kirby in 57:07 and Carol Penny in 62:29.

At the Gribdale
Gallop fell race recently, Nick Wadd was first Quaker home in 60:53, followed
by Andrew Knox in 69:38.  Brian Martin and Graham Park took part in
the Yorkshire Wolds half marathon at Bishop Wilton where Brian finished first
in his age group in 94:21 and Graham recorded 105:15.

 Local park runs were once again popular with
the club.  At Albert Park, Michael Joyeux recorded a personal best 5k time of 16:45
with Stephen Moore finishing in 20:41.  At Darlington’s South Park, Rob
Dent was first Quaker to finish the course in 19:43, followed by Dawn
Richardson (19:51), Nick Wadd (20:03), Corinne Murray (20:32), Chris Minto
(21:05), Andrew Knox (21:19), Rob Gillham (22:37), Nic Hollindale (22:49), Ty
Hankinson (23:12), Jeff Marriott (23:32), Steve McAllister (23:45), Danny
Gordon (25:00), Darryn Wood (25:46), Paul Hutchinson (25:47), Emma Whitworth
(26:46), Hazel Commane (27:57), Michael Robinson (28:51), Sally Singleton
(29:59), Adrian Dent (35:04) and Jill Wallis (35:04).  Alan Prest completed
the Durham route in 29:54 and John Brant finished Tees Barrage in
26:16, whilst at Sedgefield, Dave Thompson, Richard Payne and Abbie
Hull recorded 22:27, 27:52 and 28:05 respectively. 

Nine Quakers
attempted the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge at the weekend, aiming to complete a
24 mile loop including Pen-y-ghent (694 metres), Whernside (736 metres) and
Inglebrough (723 metres) within 12 hours. 
Diane Gardiner, Nicola Howe, April Corbett, Diane Adkins, Sandra Cass,
Wendy Colling, Anthony Corbett, Roy MacDougal and Mark Colling completed the
route together with over an hour and a half to spare.

Training sessions are held at and around the club’s base at Queen
Elizabeth 6th Form College Playing Fields, Abbey Road, Darlington (DL3 8LR) on
the west side of Darlington. The sessions are held every Tuesday and Thursday
evening from 6:30pm until 8:00pm and are open to all.
