Preston Park played host to the latest 5k trail race in the Stockton Winter Series. Lucy Jefferies was first lady to finish the undulating course in 20:56, followed by Stephen Moore in 21:37 and Louise Trainor in 21:55. Mark Colling recorded 23:20, and was closely followed by Diane Vaughan in 23:32. Danny Gordon finished second in his age group with 24:18, narrowly beating Ty Hankinson who recorded 24:22. Also running for the Quakers were Wendy Colling (25:21), Darryn Wood (26:49), Matt Jackson (26:51), Gill Colling (32:42) and Diane Adkins (33:55).
In park runs, Paul Dalton was first finisher at Darlington’s event in 17:20, followed by Michael Joyeux in 17:52 and David Park Vayro who recorded 18:43 in his first run for the club. Also running for the Quakers were Ian Readman (20:06), Andrew Knox (20:37), Stephen Deighton (20:52), Ewan Henderson (21:02), Paul Roberts (22:11), John Brant (24:29), Michael King (27:55), Sally Singleton (29:30) and Wendy Noble (30:02). Lone Quakers attended park runs at Durham, Albert Park, Redcar, Chester le Street and Worsley Woods where Alan Prest (31:44), Stephen Moore (20:01), Dave Thompson (setting a new 5k pb of 21:08), Anthony Corbett (23:53) and Ty Hankinson (24:09) represented the club. At Tees Barrage, Paul Dunn (25:23) narrowly beat Paul Appleton (25:28) with Jeanette Appleton recording 28:42. At Sedgefield, Mark Colling, Wendy Colling, Nicola Howe, Gill Colling and Diane Adkins completed the course around Hardwick Park.
