The Leeds Abbey Dash 10k road race provided the opportunity for members of the Quakers to try and set new personal best times over a flat route with chipped timing.  Michael Joyeux led the club home in a new 10k pb of 33:58, ahead of Nick Mason in 38:47 and Mark Robinson in 39:30.  Rob Dent narrowly missed out on a sub 40 minute time, but was still please with his new pb of 40:18.  Stephen Moore recorded 42:33 and Chris Minto set 44:07 whilst Paul Keedy set a new personal best of 44:26, knocking over 2 minutes off his previous best.  Also representing the club were Diane Vaughan (45:52), Steven Johnston (50:11), Julie Whinn (52:47), Richard Hughes (53:25), Diane Adkins (1:03:09), Charlotte Jones (1:09:02), Linda and Neil Harrington (1:12:32), Adrian Dent (1:17:43) and Nicola Moss (1:19:56).

At Askrigg, the Wensleydale Wedge saw two groups of Quakers take part in an event covering 23 miles over a hilly route with some beautiful views.  The team of Dave Thompson, Annette Clarke and Charlie Bogg finished in 4:24, with Sandra Cass, Nicola Howe, April Corbett, Wendy Colling and Anthony Corbett following in 5:24, knocking almost half an hour off last year’s time.

The latest NYSD Cross Country event was held at Filey on Sunday afternoon.  In the ladies race, Lucy Jefferies finished third in her age group with 20:46 with Lyndsey Lester recording 24:43.  In the men’s race, Michael Kay was first Quaker home in 43:34, followed by Graham Park in 45:47, Mark Tallon in 45:52 and Rob McSherry in 47:57.

Peter Rowley was the sole Quaker in attendance at the Barnsley 10k, completing the undulating course in 47:14.

Local park runs were once again well attended by the club.  At Darlington, Paul Dalton was first to finish the 3 lap course in 17:32, with Dawn Richardson first lady in 19:47.  Also running were Andrew Knox (20:32), Ewan Henderson (20:54), Paul Roberts (21:54), Andrew Walker (21:57), Peter Rowley (22:24), Danny Gordon (23:51), John Brant (23:59), Darryn Wood (24:52), Tim Francis (25:23), Nic Hollindale (26:00), Gillian Harris (26:01), Billy Harris (26:42), Michael King (29:09), Emma Whitworth (46:15) and Michael Joyeux (46:55).  At Albert Park, Stephen Moore completed the flat 5k route in 20:20, whilst at Stewart Park, Paul Hutchinson finished in 26:59.  At Sedgefield, Dave Thompson finished first for the club in 23:07, followed by Anthony Corbett in 25:11, Nicola Howe in 25:42 and Wendy Colling in 25:44.  Richard Payne completed the scenic course in 27:20, ahead of Diane Gardner in 29:49, Mark Colling in 29:50, and Gill Colling in 31:49.  The Tees Barrage event was attended by Paul Appleton, Paul Dunn and Jeanette Appleton who recorded 25:05, 25:29 and 29:21 respectively.
