There was a huge turnout from our club at Marske on Sunday. Twenty Quakers blasted around the Everyone Active 10k course, producing some fantastic performances. Brian Martin took the 50 points, Paul Dalton came second and Marc Ellis continued his consistent form with third spot.
Dawn Richardson was the first lady home, winning 46 points. Next was Julie Whinn with 39 followed by Sally Singleton, who just pipped Diane Adkins to take 38 points.
Following Sunday’s race, one member commented that points should not have been rewarded to one of our runners, as he was not wearing a club vest. It has recently been pointed out to me by several people that vests are currently not available to buy in their sizes. It seems churlish of me to penalise people, especially new members, when they can’t actually get their hands on a vest. Because of this situation, I’ve been using a little discretion. The majority of Quakers wear club colours at races and are proud to do so. Basically, if you have a club vest or tee shirt, please can you wear them at Championship events, as it makes things simpler for me.
The next race is the Lambton 10k on June 26th.
Well done everyone.
