Well, what a day!! I have to admit that when I saw everyone gathered together for that 'series' of photographs at 10.00am on Sunday morning that I felt very proud to be a Quaker, it was a truly impressive sight!! you'd think that having witnessed it that things couldn't get better but they did.... I'm pleased to be able to tell you that for the first time ever at our home event (please correct me if I'm wrong) our ladies team of Dawn Richardson, Louise Trainor and Lucy Jefferies took the first ladies team placing with Dawn and Louise also taking the first O/35 and first O/40 ladies prizes respectively!! fantastic news - well done girls. (postscript - I'm also pleased to be able to announce that following a correction to the results that Brian Martin has been awarded the 2nd male O/50 prize).
The results are now up www.ukresults.net and after weeks of speculation about the magic '100' I can now reveal that 121 Quakers (this number keeps creeping up) completed the 10K, there may be some of you who became members after entering the race and will therefore not be shown in the results as a Quaker, please let me know if that is the case as we'd like to include everyones performance in our press report (column space allowing!).
It was evident from the conversations that I had at the finish that even though Darlington's course is not considered to be of the PB variety there seems to be a large number who actually managed to record one, if you are one of those individuals could you please let Julie Jefferies know as again it will be included in the press report, Julie can be contacted at  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. A few words of thanks - Thanks go to Abbie Hull, Mark Colling, Ian Bond, Roy Macdougall and Phillip Batts for offering their assistance with timing chip removal at the finish line (great job done guys) and a big thank you to all those who were out on the course supporting their fellow club members, I know it was very much appreciated by all of us out there.
Finally, thanks everyone who entered (even if you didn't make it to the start line) it was a fantastic day for the club and one that you can all be justifiably proud of - well done to you all.
Regards
Wayne

Also massive thanks to Dawn's Dad for taking some fantastic photos! Michael has uploaded them onto the Flickr page and also onto his Facebook!
