On a warm, Indian summer weekend, the Quakers faced two runs as the 2011 Club Championship rounds the final straight and enters the sprint finish. Having the grass and trails of the Snape 10k, followed by the hills and trails of the Harewood House 10 mile race, the Quakers were all looking for points.

In Snape, the top two placed runners, Danny Gordon and Michael Joyeux looked to keep each other in check. Whilst Stuart Hardcastle, fresh from the Langdale half marathon, also had his sights on claiming second place! Louise Trainor joined the runners on the start line hoping that she could extend her lead at the top of the ladies table. Mark Walker and Andrew Lambe both returned from injury to grab some last minute points, along with the in-form Michael Robinson! Experienced trail runner, Anthony Corbett also turned in a good performance, away from his usual Park Run exploits on a Saturday! New comer, Corinne Murray also decided to have a try at another trail run after finishing the Sedgefield Serpentine! The Quaker’s field was rounded out by third placed Mark Robinson, Abbie Hull, April Corbett and Susan Curtis!

Danny Gordon and Michael Joyeux again clashed the following day on the trails around Harewood House and Emmerdale Farm, both men continuing their grab for single points! New comer to the club, Peter Jefferies looked to start his Quaker career with a good points haul at Harewood, along with the rest of “Team Jefferies”; Lucy and Paul, he put in a good run placing just minutes in front of marathon man Mark Robinson. Jeff Marriott, ready for his marathon next week, put in a good run along with Peter McCrossen. Abbie Hull, Roy MacDougall and Alan Prest also capitalised on a relatively low turn out to grab high points scores!
So how does the table now shape up? How many points did you get?
